OpenAI’s Stargate Is Shaking — Amazon Makes AI Wearable Move

In partnership with

Hello,

Welcome to another issue of The Digital Sovereign — your go-to source for how to use AI, tech, and digital leverage to live smarter and build independently.

Today we will touch on recent power plays, wearable moves, coding breakthroughs, and one eerie research discovery.

Let’s dive in 👇

🌀 The Stargate Project Is Showing Cracks

OpenAI just signed a massive deal with Oracle for $30 billion per year to power its Stargate data centers.

At first glance, it looks like a win.

But behind the scenes, things aren’t so smooth.

Here’s what’s going on:

  • The deal gives OpenAI over 5GW of U.S. compute power. That’s two Hoover Dams worth of AI firepower.

  • Construction has started in Abilene, Texas. Nvidia GB200 racks are already running early training workloads.

  • But a report from the Wall Street Journal says Stargate is already hitting serious friction.

  • OpenAI and SoftBank are clashing over where to build and how. Plans for multiple sites in 2025 have been scaled down to just one.

Even Elon Musk chimed in, claiming SoftBank “doesn’t have the money.”

This project was introduced in January with jaw-dropping $500 billion ambitions.

Now, just six months later, reality is kicking in.

Will Stargate still reshape AI infrastructure? Or become the next overhyped mega-project?

Time will tell.

Amazon Buys AI Wearable Startup Bee

Amazon just acquired Bee, a startup that created a $50 AI-powered wristband.

Here’s what it does:

  • Records conversations during your day

  • Transcribes them and turns them into to-do lists and reminders

  • Connects with your email, calendar, and contacts for smarter suggestions

  • Claims to avoid storing or training on your data

Every Bee employee reportedly got a job offer from Amazon.

The deal details haven’t been disclosed yet, but it’s expected to close soon.

Why this is big: AI wearables are still a wild west.

Companies like Humane and Rabbit flopped.

But Amazon has the firepower to figure it out.

This space is open for domination and Amazon might just be the one to take the lead.

👨‍💻 Smarter Coding with Claude Code

Developers, this one’s for you.

Claude Code is a new tool that brings contextual code assistance directly into your terminal.

It works like a true pair programming partner.

Here’s how to try it:

  1. Install it with
    npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code

  2. Open your IDE or terminal and type
    claude

  3. Ask questions like:
"What’s the structure of this codebase?"
    "Can you fix this bug?"
"Write a new feature for this file"

The longer your convo with Claude, the smarter it becomes.

This isn’t just autocomplete.. it’s like having a second brain helping you build better, faster.

🧠 AI Can Learn Things It Shouldn’t… Without Seeing Them

This one’s wild.

Researchers just found that AI models can subliminally pass traits like preferences or even risky behaviors to other models.

And it doesn’t require any direct instructions or visible data.

What happened:

  • A “teacher” model that liked owls trained a “student” model using random code

  • The new model developed a strange preference for owls too, even though animals weren’t mentioned

  • This worked with dangerous behavior as well, even after filtering

It only happens when models are based on the same architecture — but it shows that safety filters alone might not be enough.

This adds a whole new layer of risk in the world of model training.

Especially as more companies train AI models on AI-generated data.

Quick AI Hits

🛠️ New Tools to Try:

  • Qwen3Alibaba’s powerful open-source model

  • Hierarchical Reasoning Model – brain-inspired reasoning engine

  • Pika Social AI-first video social app

  • Act-TwoRunway’s motion capture model via API

💼 Big Moves in AI Hiring

  • Microsoft snapped up 20+ DeepMind engineers

  • Anthropic is backtracking on Middle East bans to chase new deals

  • Meta hired the top researchers behind Google’s IMO-winning math model

  • Bee team is now part of Amazon

💡 Takeaway

The AI world is moving fast but not always smoothly.

Massive infrastructure deals are hitting resistance.

AI wearables are trying again with fresh energy.

Coding tools are evolving rapidly.

And deep learning research is uncovering things that feel almost sci-fi.

Stay informed.

Stay sharp.

Stay sovereign.

Until next time,
